The Champs-Élysées Christmas Lights will sparkle from 5 pm to midnight daily until Sunday 8 January 2017, and all night long on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Now a Champs-Élysées tradition, the Christmas Lights thrill visitors of all ages year after year and help raise the avenue’s international profile.
The Committee has achieved energy savings since 2007: electricity consumption has been drastically reduced by the use of LED technology, falling from 480,000 kWh to 10,990 kWh throughout the Christmas Lights. An electricity-generating offset scheme was introduced in 2011.
Other events will also be held on the avenue, including:
– Christmas Market from 11 November to 2 January
– Car-free day on Sunday 4 December
– Light show at the Arc de Triomphe on New Year’s Eve
– New Year’s Day parade from 1 pm
